Fatal Hit and Run Traffic Collision NR18301dm

Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification of the suspect involved in a hit and run traffic collision that killed a 65-year-old man.

On November 22, 2018, around 10:45 p.m., a pedestrian was crossing eastbound on Vermont Avenue, just north of 17th Place, outside of an unmarked crosswalk. He was struck by a black sedan going northbound on Vermont Avenue. The driver of the Black sedan failed to stop, identify themselves and render aid at the scene of a traffic collision as required by law.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
