Fatal Shooting in West Hills NR20023jc

West Hills: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for a shooting that resulted in the death of a man.

On January 24, 2020, at 11:26 a.m., Topanga Area Patrol Officers responded to a radio call of an, “Assault with a Deadly Weapon” (ADW) shooting at the 7300 block of Medical Center Drive. The comments of the call indicated that a victim had been found in the parking lot of the location with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Once found, the victim was provided medical attention but, unfortunately, succumbed to the injuries and was pronounced dead at 11:30 a.m. The victim is identified as 18-year-old Joseph Waary.

Through a preliminary investigation, detectives determined that Mr. Waary had been shot at another location and had been dropped off by his acquaintances at the location where he was found.

The suspect is described as a 19-year-old Hispanic male standing 5 feet 8 inches and weighs around 180 pounds.
