Fatal Shooting Takes Another Life

Los Angeles: Harbor Area Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting incident, which led to the death of a male Hispanic, 20-25 years of age.
The incident occurred on Monday, January 6, 2003, at approximately 10:25 p.m., at the northeast corner of Pacific Coast Highway and President Avenue in Harbor City, Los Angeles.

The victim was standing near a bus bench when the unknown suspect, a male Hispanic, walked up to the victim and fired several rounds.
Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at scene. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
The motive is unknown at this time and there is no further information on the suspect.

The victim has been identified as Jose Santiago, a male Hispanic, 22 years of age.
