Female Shot During Armed Robbery

Robbery-Homicide Division, Robbery Special Section Detectives are assuming the investigation of two restaurant robberies that occurred in the Valley Area on November 3, 1999.

The China Palace Restaurant located at 15466 Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks was robbed at 9:10 p.m. by two armed suspects, who took money.

At approximately 10:00 p.m. the same suspects robbed The Charm Thai Restaurant located at 13539 Ventura Blvd. in Van Nuys.

The suspects are described as:

#1 Male Black 6 feet 4 inches to 6 feet 5 inches, weighing 150 to 160 pounds, 30-35 years of age, and wearing dark clothing, armed with a handgun.

#2 Male Black 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches, weighing 130 to 140 pounds, 30 to 35 years of age.

The suspects entered the locations armed and demanded money. The suspects are armed and vicious. Suspect #1 shot a female employee in the face without warning. The suspects took money and fled.

The female gunshot victim, is currently hospitalized in critical condition.

These suspects are possibly connected to a series of restaurant robberies being investigated as of November 1, 1999 by Robbery-Homicide Division. To date two similar described suspects, since May 23, 1999, have committed a total of 11 crimes in the West Los Angeles, and Valley Areas.
