Fifth Annual Police Appreciation Day

Northridge: The Los Angeles City Council and Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan proclaimed November 10, 2000 as "Police Appreciation Day." Commemorating the Fifth Annual Police Appreciation Day, the Devonshire Area Community Police Advisory Board (CPAB) has sponsored a essay contest for 5th grade students who attend Los Angeles Unified School District schools in Devonshire Area. The Devonshire Area CPAB is sponsoring this essay contest in an attempt to increase the interaction of the police in our community. The topic of the essay contest is "Why I Appreciate the Police."

The Devonshire Area CPAB will host an award ceremony for the winner of the contest on November 13, 2000 at 9:30 AM in the Devonshire Community Police Station Roll Call Room. Please join the students, parents and teachers in congratulating the winners.
