Follow-Up of Fatal Hit & Run Leads to Suspects’ Arrest

West Valley – On April 1, 2000, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Ida Britton was driving her 1992 Honda Accord northbound in a driveway and attempting to negotiate a turn to go westbound on Burbank Boulevard. Ester Brill was riding in the front passenger side of the Honda Accord. A 1998 Volkswagon Jetta, driven by Jerry Rosas, collided with the Honda Accord as it proceeded eastbound on Burbank Boulevard, east of White Oak Avenue. Following the collision, and in an attempt to evade responsibility, Rosas fled the scene on foot. Ester Brill, the passenger in the Honda Accord, was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to the injuries she received during the accident.

Valley Traffic Division Detectives conducted a follow-up investigation to the home of Jerry Rosas where he was arrested for Vehicle Code section 20001 (Felony Hit-and-Run).
