Four Car Chain Reaction Collision Kills One NR14445jr

Reseda: Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Detectives are seeking witnesses to a violent chain reaction vehicle crash that killed an 89 year-old driver.

On Sunday, November 16th, 2014, at approximately 12:20 a.m. a fatal traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Wilbur Avenue in the community of Reseda. The incident occurred when the driver of a 2000 Volkswagen traveling westbound Victory Boulevard, collided with the rear of a 2000 Nissan Altima. The collision between the two vehicles caused the Nissan Altima to go out of control and collide with a 2000 Toyota Avalon, which was stopped facing eastbound Victory Boulevard waiting to make a left turn onto northbound Wilbur Avenue.  The impact caused the Toyota Avalon to travel backward and collide with a 2013 KIA Rio which was stopped directly to the rear of the Toyota Avalon.   A total of four cars were involved in this traffic collision.  Justina Larrea, 89 year of age, who was the passenger of the Nissan Altima died at the scene from the injuries sustained in the traffic collision.
