Four Juveniles Escape Sylmar Juvenile Hall

Los Angeles: Early Wednesday morning at about 3:30 AM, four juveniles escaped from Sylmar Juvenile Hall.
According to investigators, the escapees used bed sheets to climb through the ceiling to break free from the facility.  At 4:00 AM, the suspects stopped by a home two blocks from the detention facility.  An unidentified woman came to the door.  One of the suspects told the woman that their car broke down and asked if she could dial a few telephone numbers.  The woman tried calling and told the escapees that an answering machine had been reached.  All four escapees then left the residence.
At about 10:00 AM, the escapees were in the area of Carol Lane, Sylmar.  They approached a male motorist, simulated a handgun, carjacked and kidnapped him.  The motorist was ordered to drive the suspects to the area of Imperial Highway and Broadway, South Los Angeles,  where he dropped them off.  The motorist  was not hurt during the ordeal.
The escapees are described as male Blacks and they were last seen wearing gray pants, white t-shirts, and blue/gray sweatshirts marked with “SJH.”
The names of the suspects are:
Darrell Duncan, age 14
Isaiah Walker, age 17
Kenny Mack,  age 17
Nicolas Pipkins, age 17
All juveniles reside in South Los Angeles and/or the Antelope Valley area and are known gang members with criminal backgrounds.  One of the juveniles had been in custody for attempt murder.  All of  the escapees are to be considered violent and dangerous.
