Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department announces the filing of charges in the shooting death of a youth minister, Oscar Patrice Duncan. This murder occurred on June, 4, 2012 at 10:30 p.m. in the 600 Block of Santa Clara Avenue in Venice.

On June 12, 2012 the Office of the District Attorney filed Murder charges (187PC, with gun use and street gang allegations) against Kevin Dwayne Green, AKA: Baby Skull. Green was charged with a separate count of second degree robbery that occurred on May 21, 2012, and with one count of felon in possession of a firearm. Bail was set at $1,000,000.00 with a No Bail Parole Hold.  If convicted, Green faces up to 50 years to life in prison.  This egregious crime shocked the community.  The Los Angeles Police Department and the victim’s friends and family asked the community for help in solving this case.  As a direct result numerous tips were received identifying Kevin Green as one of the men responsible for this gang motivated murder.

On June 8, 2012 Green was arrested by Gang Narcotics Division investigators after attempting to evade officers in South Los Angeles.  Scores of investigators worked around the clock to solve this case.

This investigation is ongoing, and our detectives are still interviewing witnesses and gathering clues, we cannot disclose all aspects of this investigation.

As pleased as we are to see one of the perpetrators of this egregious crime is in custody and being prosecuted, the hearts of all the Los Angeles Police Department members goes out to the family and friends of Oscar Duncan, the innocent victim in this senseless case.  We are profoundly sorry for your loss and only hope that the arrest and prosecution of this individual can help bring a slight amount of comfort to your family.
