Echo Park: On Tuesday, October 30, 2001 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Northeast Area officers responded to a radio call of a shooting at Glendale Boulevard and Berkeley Avenue. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers observed the victim, 34-year-old male Hispanic, on the sidewalk with numerous gunshot wounds to his upper torso.
The Los Angeles Fire Department’s Rescue Ambulance responded to the location and administered emergency medical treatment. The victim was transported to a local hospital and despite life saving efforts, succumbed to his wounds.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to his family. The motive for this crime appears to be gang related.
