"Gang Related Shooting Claims 21 Year Old Victim"

Los Angeles: On Tuesday, September 12, 2000, at 12:50 a.m., victim Master Antoine Fricks, 21 years old, and two suspects, described only as male Blacks, were standing in front of 5265 South Figueroa Street. A verbal dispute between the three erupted. It escalated to the point that the two suspects armed themselves with a .380 and a .22 caliber semi-automation pistol and shot Fricks multiple times. The suspects then fled southbound from the location. Victim Fricks sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his face, upper torso, and buttocks. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances for this incident have not been revealed but the motive appears to be gang related.
