Gang Related Shooting in North Hills

Los Angeles: Mission Area Homicide Detectives are investigating a gang related drive-by shooting, which claimed the life of a man and wounding of his friend. 
On Sunday, October 2, 2005, at approximately 3:10 AM, Mission Area patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the 8700 block of Columbus Avenue.  Upon arrival officers observed one victim, later identified as 20-year-old Gerardo Fajardo, a resident of Van Nuys, deceased at the scene.
Fajardo’s friend, 20-year-old Hispanic man, a resident of Sun Valley, was shot in the chest and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. 
The suspect(s) were only described as male Hispanics.
