Gang Related Shooting Kills Another

Los Angeles: Rampart Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting death of a 49 year-old male Hispanic.
On March 17, 2003 at approximately 2:30 a.m., Rampart Area patrol officers responded to a "Shots Fired" radio call in the 2300 block of West 11th Street. Upon arrival, the officers observed the victim down on the sidewalk, suffering from a gunshot wound to his arm. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead.
The preliminary investigation revealed that witnesses heard several gunshots in the area and called the police. No suspect(s) were seen. The weapon and suspects are outstanding.
The identity of the victim will not be revealed until after his relatives have been notified.
