Gang Related Shooting Leaves One Dead

Los Angeles: On Monday, December 8, 2003, at 10:20 p.m., Newton Patrol officers responded to an "Ambulance Shooting" radio call in the 400 block of East 53rd Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered the victim of a shooting had been transported to a local hospital.
The victim, a male Black in his 30’s, who has not been identified, pending the notification to his family, appears to have been driving his vehicle when the shooting occurred. The victim was shot at an unknown location while he drove his car. The victim continued to drive his vehicle to the area of 400 E. 53rd Street, where he collided with a parked vehicle.
Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital where he died from a gunshot wound.
The motive is unknown and the suspect (s) and weapon remain outstanding. This shooting is being investigated as a gang related shooting by Newton Homicide.
