Gang-Related Stabbing Results in Death

Los Angeles: Central Homicide Detectives are investigating the stabbing death of Victor Beltran, a 19 year-old resident of Los Angeles.
On Sunday, March 9, 2003, at approximately 1:20 p.m., the victim, Victor Beltran, was observed by witnesses being chased by three male Hispanics, into an in-door swap meet located in the 500 block of South Spring Street. According to witnesses, when the suspects were behind Beltran, one suspect produced a knife and stabbed him in the upper torso. All three suspects were heard yelling gang slurs as they chased the victim.
Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he died a short time later.
The suspects are described as three male Hispanics, between the ages of 15 and 19. The motive appears to be gang-related.
