"Gang Shooting Claims 29 Year Old"

Los Angeles: On 12-18-00 at approximately 8:35 a.m., Jose Luis Valles, 29 years old, was in his vehicle on 42nd Street at Grand Avenue. As he crossed the intersection, an unidentified suspect stepped out from an unknown make or model white vehicle and fired a minimum of seven rounds at the victim, striking him in the upper torso. The victim continued eastbound for several hundred feet, jumped the curb and crashed into a wall. Paramedics were summoned and transported the victim to a local hospital where he failed to respond to treatment and was pronounced dead at 9:35 a.m.

The suspects were described only as two male Blacks, driving a large, white, 4-door vehicle. One suspect was armed with a semi-automatic pistol. The suspects and weapon are still outstanding.
