Gang Shooting Results in One Dead, One Wounded

Los Angeles On Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at 2:35 p.m., Romero Triguero, a 28 year-old male Hispanic, was seated in a car in front of 1368 East 41st Place. The car was parked at the curb and Triguero was talking with a second male Hispanic, a 16 year-old, who was also in the car. A gray van drove by their location and began shooting at the parked car and the victims. Triguero was hit by the gunshots and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 16 year-old victim was also hit by the gunshots and was transported to USC Medical Center. He is listed in stable condition.
It is unclear at this time the motive for the shooting but it does appear to gang- related.
