Gang Shooting Takes Another Life

Los Angeles: Hollenbeck Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting death of 26 year-old Ronaldo Armenta, and the attempt murder of 30 year-old Ramon Gomez. On November 29, 2002, at approximately 11:45 p.m., the victims were about to enter an apartment building located in the 500 block of North Soto Street, when unknown suspects approached on foot and began to shoot at the victims. Armenta was struck in the upper back area and Gomez was struck in the left hand. Both victims were transported to USC Medical Center where Armenta succumbed to his injuries.
 
Suspect information is unknown at this time. However, the shooting is believed to be gang related.
