"Gang Violence Claims Life"

Los Angeles – On Sunday, September 10, 2000, at approximately 7:35 p.m., a 22 year-old male Hispanic was standing on the 1300 block of South Constance Street. A male and female Hispanic approached the victim. The male suspect asked the victim where he was from? The victim responded with a gang name. The female suspect produced a handgun and shot the victim. The victim fell wounded to the ground. The female suspect fled the location southbound on Constance Street on foot, while the male suspect fled northbound.

The Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded to the location and found the victim down with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported by rescue ambulance to an area hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

The motive for this crime is gang related. The suspects and weapon are outstanding. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
