"Handicapped Female Robbed of Her Wheelchair"

Los Angeles – On Sunday, July 8, 2001 at approximately 4:00 P.M., Ms. Darlene Young was waiting at the corner of Adams Street and Hooper Avenue for the bus when the suspect approached her. The suspect, a male Hispanic, with black hair, 5’08", 160 lbs, violently pushed Ms.Young out of her wheel chair causing her to fall to the ground. The suspect then took her wheel chair and fled the location on foot.
The Newton Robbery Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect who left Ms.Young helplessly lying on the ground. The Newton Community Police Station is also collecting donations with hopes of buying Ms. Young a new wheel chair. Ms. Young will be available at the press conference for interviews.
