"Harbor Area Community Police Station Hosts the 1st Annual ‘Stop the Violence’ Police Fair"

San Pedro: On Saturday, December 02, 2000, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Harbor Area Community Police Station will host its 1st Annual "Stop the Violence" Community Police Fair, at the intersection of 204th Street and Harvard Avenue in San Pedro. Los Angeles Police Department Chief of Police Bernard C. Parks, Harbor Area Community Police Station Captain Paul M. Kim, representatives from Councilman Rudy Svornich’s office and others, will attend and be available to speak to members of the community regarding police issues in their area.

In addition, members of the LAPD Explorers, LAPD Reserve Officers Association, D.A.R.E. America, the Harbor Area Crisis Response Team and the Harbor Area Police Volunteers Association will host tables to provide the public with information. Specifically, all participants will be available to answer questions regarding law enforcement efforts to combat violent crime and to provide additional information regarding resources available to the community which enable members to work in partnership with police.

Free food and drink will be available during the event and all members of the public are invited to attend and participate.
