The uniformed HCOP volunteers will be assigned various missions to augment the crime suppression efforts of the Los Angeles Police Department. The missions will include, but not limited to the following, High Visibility Directed Patrols, in non-enforcement roles, completing various crime reports and other administrative/technical duties as directed by the Harbor Area Commanding Officer.

Harbor Area will be graduating ten volunteers who have completed a rigorous 9-week training program which required each student to sacrifice aspects of both their personal and professional lives. What this class has accomplished will benefit the Harbor Area and build a more active and secure community. The Los Angeles Police Department is looking forward to presenting future Harbor Community on Patrol academies as an ongoing effort to empower the Harbor Area Communities and improve the quality of life of its residents.
