Hit-and-Run Collision Leaves Bicyclist Severely Injured
Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a driver involved in a hit-and-run traffic collision that severely injured a 64-year-old man.
On May 28, 2025, at 3:17 a.m., a bicyclist was traveling south on Hoover Street, on the west sidewalk crossing 20th Street, within the crosswalk. The bicyclist was struck by a white sedan, negotiating a left turn from northbound Hoover Street to westbound 20th Street. The driver of the white sedan failed to stop, identify themselves, and render aid to the pedestrians as required by law. The vehicle continued west on 20th Street towards the Interstate10 west on-ramp.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was treated for severe injuries.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves. The public is also reminded that as pedestrians, they should exercise caution when crossing streets, obey traffic lights, cross within marked crosswalks, and obey the rules of the road.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
