Hit and Run Collision Leaves Pedestrian Seriously Injured NR21148jc

June 10, 2021

East Hollywood: The Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the driver involved in a hit and run traffic collision that left a pedestrian seriously injured.

On Monday, March 31, 2021, at 9:00 p.m., a pedestrian was walking southbound across Fountain Avenue when a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Fountain Avenue from Hobart Boulevard struck the pedestrian. The victim survived but sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. The driver of the four-door white vehicle fled the scene without identifying themselves and did not render aid to the victim as required by law.

The vehicle is described as an older model four-door white Hyundai. It is believed the vehicle may be a 2005 to 2007 Hyundai Sonata.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
