Hit-and-Run Driver Arrested After Fatal Collision
with Elderly Woman
Pacoima: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division (VTD) detectives are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that killed an elderly woman in her mid-70’s.
On August 4, 2025, around 8:10 p.m., a white, Honda Accord was traveling eastbound Osborne Street when it struck a female pedestrian who was on the roadway with her dog just west of Haddon Street. The driver of the vehicle continued eastbound Osborne Street without
stopping or rendering aid to the pedestrian as required by law. Responding officers from Foothill division observed the suspect’s vehicle while canvassing the area and took the suspect into custody without incident.
The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. She is described as a female in her late 70’s. Her name has not been released pending notification to next-of-kin. The victims dog also suffered severe injuries and later died.
The driver of the Honda was identified as Ever Marquez, a 31-year-old resident of Pacoima. He was arrested and booked at LAPD Van Nuys Jail for 20001(a)VC- Felony Hit and Run Causing Death. His bail amount was set at $30,000.00. He was given Booking No. 7065481.
Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves. Pedestrians are also reminded to use crosswalks when crossing streets and to do so in a safe manner as to not pose a hazard to vehicles.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
