Northridge: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division (VTD) detectives are investigating a hit-and-run traffic collision that killed a man in his 20’s.
On April 5, 2026, around 8:15 p.m., a gray 2006, Honda Accord was traveling eastbound on Roscoe Boulevard, west of White Oak Avenue when it struck a pedestrian who was on the roadway. The pedestrian was dragged a distance before becoming dislodged from the vehicle. The vehicle continued eastbound on Roscoe Blvd without stopping to identifying themselves or rendering aid as required by law.
The Los Angeles Fire Department’s paramedics responded to the scene and transported the pedestrian to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. He was described only as a male, in his 20’s. His name is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
Subsequent follow-ups were conducted leading to the location and identification of the hit and run vehicle and driver. This is an ongoing investigation at this time, VTD Detectives are conducting additional follow-ups/interviews and are urging the public to come forward with information regarding this fatal hit and run. If you were driving on Roscoe Boulevard and White Oak Avenue on Sunday evening around 8:15 p.m., and/or witnessed the collision, please contact VTD detectives with any information you may have.
Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
