Hit and Run Suspect Sought in Man’s Death

Los Angeles: On Friday, January 21, 2005, at about 6:10 p.m., a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Main Street and 71st Street.
Pedro Renee Quintanilla, a 76 year-old resident of Pasadena was attempting to cross at an unmarked intersection, when a he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Main Street. Witnesses said the vehicle, described as a black Honda Civic with possible front end damage, was traveling at a high rate of speed when the collision occurred. The driver of the vehicle quickly made a left turn eastbound on 71st Street and fled the scene.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported Mr. Quintanilla to a local hospital where he died.
