Home Invasion Robbery and Sexual Assault Investigation

Los Angeles: On Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a home invasion robbery and sexual assault occurred in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles. Two male suspects rang the victim’s doorbell and pretended to be selling candy. When the victim opened the front door, the suspects produced handguns and forced their way into the residence. The suspects then tied up three victims. Two additional male suspects arrived at the residence and assisted in ransacking the residence. The female victim was sexually assaulted during the robbery and all three victims were robbed of their money and jewelry. The suspects fled the location in a black sport utility vehicle.
On May 21, 2002, detectives from Robbery-Homicide Division, Rape Special Section, responded to the victims’ residence and assumed investigative responsibility for the case. The suspects have been described as African-American males, between the ages of 17-21. There have been no suspects identified and the investigation is continuing.
