Homicide Detectives Arrest Stabbing Suspect

Los Angeles: On Wednesday, January 15, 2003, at approximately 8:25 p.m., Hollywood Area officers responded to a radio call of a possible battery investigation at the 1000 block of Kingsley Drive, a convalescent board and care facility. Upon arrival, Hollywood officers discovered that a 96 year-old female resident of the location had been brutally attacked, sustaining numerous stab wounds to her face and neck. Los Angeles City Fire Department Paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where she was treated for her injuries and listed in guarded condition.
Hollywood detectives conducted a follow-up investigation which resulted in the arrest of 25 year-old, Kimberly Rogers, a resident of Los Angeles, and an ex-employee of the board and care facility. The motive for the attack has not been established. Kimberly Rogers was booked for Attempt Murder A187(A) P.C. The bail was set for $530,000.00.
The victim has been identified as Alice Davis Kinkead, 96 years of age, a resident of Hollywood.
