"Homicide Investigation"

Rampart – On Thursday, November 9, 2000, at approximately 9:35 p.m., uniformed officers responded to a "Shots Fired, Ambulance Enroute" radio call" at the 500 block of South Rampart Boulevard. Upon officer’s arrival they found one victim on the sidewalk. The victim, described only as a male Hispanic, twenty-five years of age, had sustained a gun-shot wound to his upper body. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics transported the victim to Los Angeles County University of Southern California Medical Center (LAUSCMC), where the victim died from his injury.

The investigation revealed two suspects fled north-bound Rampart Boulevard in a silver colored vehicle.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.

This incident is being investigated as gang related.
