"Murder Investigation"

Hollywood – On Wednesday, December 6, 2000, at approximately 3:35 p.m., a motorist flagged down a Hollywood patrol unit while they patrolled the 6100 block of Santa Monica Boulevard. The officers were informed that a victim of a shooting, described as a 22 year old, male Hispanic, was inside the motorist’s vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital, but failed to respond to treatment and died as the result of multiple gunshot wounds.

The investigation revealed that the victim and the witness who flagged down the officers were seated in their vehicle in the 6100 block of Romaine Street, when two suspects approached. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun and opened fire as he approached, striking the victim numerous times. The witness drove away from the scene to where the officers were flagged down.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The motive for this crime appears to be gang related.
