"Homicide Investigation in 77th Street Area"
 

Los Angeles – On Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at approximately 5:45 p.m., victim Shereece T. Camprankin, 29 years old, was approached by a male Black suspect in front of 7810 ½ South Avalon Boulevard. For no apparent reason, the suspect produced an unknown type handgun and shot the victim multiple times. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. Camprankin sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounce dead at the scene.
The motive for this incident is unknown.
The suspect and weapon remain outstanding.
