"Homicide Investigation"

Venice – On October 28, 2000, at approximately 11:30 PM, Pacific Area uniformed officers responded to a "Shots Fired" call at 96th Street and Belford Avenue. Upon arrival officers saw a male victim, who had been shot while seated inside his parked vehicle. Responding paramedics pronounced the victim dead at scene. The victim was identified as 19 year-old, Dain S. Houston, a resident of Redondo Beach.

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect was described as a male, wearing a hooded sweat-shirt. The suspect fled on foot after the shooting. The motive for this crime appears to by robbery.
