"Identity Theft Suspect Being Sought"

Los Angeles – The Los Angeles Police Department’s Financial Crimes Division will be conducting a press conference on Thursday, November 2, 2000 at 3:00 p.m. The press conference will take place in front of Parker Center, 150 North Los Angeles Street in Los Angeles, to request the public’s assistance in locating an identity theft suspect.

The suspect, Sung Soon Kim, a 40 year old male Korean, 5-6, 160 lbs., utilizing the alias of June Young Kim, victimized several clothing businesses with account close and non-sufficient fund checks. The suspect caused a loss of over $75,000.00 to these companies.

The suspect utilized the alias of Kyoung Ok Kim and attempted to lease an automobile by completing a false credit application. When the suspect was arrested, he utilized the name of an identity theft victim, Tae Woo Kil, and posted bail before his true identity could be discovered.

Additionally, the suspect has an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest for Burglary and a misdemeanor warrant for driving under the influence.
