Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department and City Officials will be holding a press conference prior to the Fourth Annual Traffic Safety Summit to highlight the results of the latest street racing confiscation task force.
The LAPD will not tolerate illegal street racing in the City of Los Angeles and will aggressively enforce this new law, section 41.70.2 LAMC, which went into effect July 28, 2003. The LAPD is committed to confiscating any vehicles engaged in street racing, as well as putting drivers and spectators in jail.
Those who endanger others because they choose to drive "a little too fast and a little too furious" will lose their cars and go to jail.
Photos of recent street racing related fatal crashes and vehicles confiscated from the latest enforcement efforts will be on display for the media during the press conference. A VHS cassette tape depicting surveillance video of the illegal street racing task force will also be made available to the media at the press conference.
