Reseda: The Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Valley Traffic Detectives (VTD) are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that killed a male in his mid-30’s.
On August 22, 2025, around 8:05 p.m., a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision occurred on Victory Boulevard west of Belmar Avenue. A male pedestrian had just exited the driver side of his parked vehicle when a black compact SUV, traveling westbound on Victory Boulevard, veered to the right and struck the pedestrian. The black compact SUV continued westbound on Victory Boulevard and turned northbound on Corbin Avenue without stopping to identify self or render aid as required by law.

The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male pedestrian dead at scene. The pedestrian is described as a male Hispanic in his mid-30’s. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
This investigation is ongoing and VTD Detectives are urging anyone who was traveling in the area of Victory Boulevard and Belmar Avenue on August 22, 2025, around 8:05 p.m., to come
forward with any information regarding this fatal hit-and-run.
Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
