Joint-Agency Sobriety Checkpoint Task Force

San Fernando Valley: On Friday, September 7, 2001, commencing at 8:00 pm, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division, and the California Highway Patrol, will join forces to conduct a "Sobriety Checkpoint" at Topanga Canyon Boulevard, south of Devonshire Street.
"There have been far too many impaired-driving injuries and fatalities in the San Fernando Valley this year. Impaired driving seems to be on an increase. We are very pleased at the opportunity to work with our partners at the California Highway Patrol in order to send an important message to the public, and to take drunk drivers off the street," said LAPD Captain Greg Meyer, Commanding Officer, Valley Traffic Division.
