Kidnap, Robbery and Sexual Assault Occur in the Van Nuys Area

On Sunday, June 6, 1999 at approximately 11:30 P.M., Van Nuys patrol officers responded to the area of Kester Avenue and Magnolia Blvd in response to a reported kidnap, robbery and sexual assault. The investigation revealed that an unknown male suspect, wearing a ski mask and carrying a handgun, approached two female victims, 21-22 years of age and demanded money. The suspect then forced them into their car and directed them to a secluded area where he sexually assaulted them. After the attack, the victims were directed back to the area of Kester Avenue and Magnolia Blvd where the suspect fled the location on foot.

The victims were transported to a local hospital and are in good condition.

The suspect has been described as a male, Black, 5’8 to 5’9 tall, 160 to 170 pounds, 20-25 years of age. The weapon used has been described as a small semi-automatic handgun.
