"Kids – Dogs and Cops, Christmas Party for Underprivileged Children"

Los Angeles – On December 14, 2000 at 11:00 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department Metropolitan Divisions K-9 Unit in partnership with the Los Angeles Ministry Project of South Central Los Angeles (LAMP) will host the annual Kids, Dogs and Cops Christmas party for underprivileged children at 104 West 47th Place (Main Street and 47th Place).

Each K-9 Officer became a secret Santa and purchased gifts for seventy children. The officers will deliver Santa and the presents only as Police Officers can. The party will include an inflated jumper/bounce house, piñatas, and a demonstration from the K-9 unit and Santa Claus himself.

The South Central LAMP program is an organization that works with mothers and children in the community who are at risk. The LAMP program strives to enhance parenting skills and family.
