WHY:
To help celebrate the Holiday season, the Los Angeles Police Department has partnered with various donors and supporters to help give back to our community.  The 2nd Annual “Operation Shoes from Santa” will feature over 1,100 pairs of shoes that will be distributed to pre-designated children from 16 schools within the 77th Street community.

VISUALS:
Officers from 77th Area will also transform the police station into a Winter Wonderland with real snow on the ground for children to play in.  Additionally, Home Depot will participate by sponsoring an on-site “Santa’s Workshop” where children will have the opportunity to build and paint crafts.

Santa will be coming to town in an LAPD police helicopter sleigh to provide shoes, toys, and a stocking full of holiday treats for the children. During the Holiday Shoe event, the media will have the opportunity to meet the families receiving these gifts and hear their personal stories.
