Why:
Graduating officers have completed 1,035 hours of training over the course of 32 weeks. There are 38 males and 9 females in the graduating class. The ethnic breakdown of the class are as follows: 18 Caucasians, 20 Hispanics, 1 Filipino, 4 African Americans and 4 Asians.

Additionally, one lateral officer will graduate with the regular recruit class. The lateral officer is an experienced peace officer who has joined the LAPD after serving with another California law enforcement agency.

Chief William J. Bratton will inspect the class.
