WHY:
Graduating officers have completed 1,035 hours of training over the course of 32 weeks. There are 58 males and 12 females in the graduating class.

The ethnic breakdown of the class is 18 Caucasians, 33 Hispanics, 9 African American, 1 Taiwanese, 1 Chinese.

The graduating class includes 57 LAPD officers, 3 General services Police Department officers, and 8 Los Angeles World Airport Police Department officers. The LAPD officers include 2 lateral officers that will graduate with the regular recruit class. These lateral officers are experienced peace officers who have been certified by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training. Both officers joined the Los Angeles Police Department after serving with other California law enforcement agencies.
