Los Angeles: The Department is involved in a collaborative effort to stop the violence that has erupted throughout the South Central Los Angeles area. Consistent with our desire to reinforce the Department’s commitment to working with the community, the LAPD, along with key members of the community, will address the issue regarding the recent eruption of crime in the south central Los Angeles Area that left several residents dead, the majority of whom were victims of gang and/or gun violence.
 
In one day, seven people were killed in the City of Los Angeles. With homicide statistics increasing and community fear at a heightened level, the time for action is now.
