The Los Angeles Fire Department’s Basketball Team
On Saturday, June 25, 2011, Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck and Los Angeles Fire Chief Millage Peaks will be tipping-off the 2nd Annual LAPD & LAFD Safe Summer Tip-Off Youth Basketball Event. The event will be hosted by actor, comedian and talk show host Mr. Arsenio Hall.
This FREE community event will to bring youth and their families together from neighborhoods citywide in a positive and exciting environment to launch the summer season with safety tips, interactive safety games, celebrity autographs, entertainment, educational opportunities, prizes and a complimentary lunch prepared by the Cities best firefighters.
This event will feature a friendly and competitive game of basketball between the LAPD and LAFD basketball teams. The event will also highlight and promote an exhibit area for attendees to have an opportunity to learn about programs from the two departments, community resources and summer programs, the importance of staying physically active, camaraderie, and bring awareness to enjoying the summer safely.
