LAPD Apprises Angelenos of Federal Hot Lines

Los Angeles: During the morning hours of September 11, 2001, terrorism struck the United States as terrorists commandeered four jetliners, crashing the first of two into the World Trade Center. The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has taken the lead role in vigorously investigating this criminal act, with the goal of bringing those responsible for this heinous crime against society, to justice.
Since the beginning of this comprehensive investigation by federal and other officials, the FBI has received thousands of tips that have resulted in them making substantive gains in this complex investigation.
The Los Angeles Police Department joins the FBI in encouraging anyone with information that could assist in this ongoing investigation, or anyone with information that could possibly prevent future occurrences, to call the toll free National Tips Line, set up by the FBI, at 866-483-5137.
Additionally, the Department of Justice, Office of Victims of Crimes, has established the following toll free line for friends and families of victims of Monday’s tragedy. The number is 800-331-0075. Trained counselors are available to answer calls and assist as needed. An informational web site has also been established. The web site address is:
