DETAILS: Nearly 360 graduates will be honored at this ceremony which celebrates each graduate’s successful completion of the 15-week Cadet Leadership Academy, considered the preparatory phase in the LAPD Cadet journey. The 15-week training program is comprised of classroom work, facilitated discussions, physical training, and relationship building with members of the LAPD. Additionally, the ceremony signifies a new beginning, qualifying each graduate to take his or her place among over 1,500 cadets Citywide who have made the choice to achieve their dreams and apply the lessons they have learned. Additionally, the ceremony will recognize 80 parents and guardians of cadets who completed the concurrent 8-week Parent Academy.

The Cadet Program is a community-based crime prevention program developed to empower young people and maximize their personal and scholastic potential through the emphasis of the program’s four cornerstones: Leadership, Academic Excellence, Ethical and Wise Decision-Making, and Community Stewardship.

The Cadet Program is committed to offering all community members access to pathways that can lead to a brighter future and equipping youth participants with the tools necessary to assume leadership positions in whatever path they choose in life.

NOTE: Event parking is free and will be available at the multi-level parking structure located at 3569 South Flower Street, just south of the Galen Center.
