LAPD Chief Charlie Beck Announces New Command Staff Promotions and Position Upgrades NR16122jj

Los Angeles: Earlier today LAPD Chief Charlie Beck announced the following command staff promotions, upgrades and assignments:

Promotions •Commander Jon Peters promoted to Deputy Chief, Operations West Bureau •Captain III Vito Palazzalo promoted to Commander, Office of Special Operations •Captain III Jeffrey Bert promoted to Commander, Office of Constitutional Policing and Policy •Lieutenant II Alcenda Neal promoted to Captain I, Southeast Division

Upgrades •Captain II David Kowalski upgraded to Captain III, Olympic Area •Captain I Leland Sands upgraded to Captain II, South Traffic Division The promotions and upgrades are a result of the impending retirement of Assistant Chief Earl Paysinger later this year and Chief Beck’s promotion of Deputy Chief Beatrice Girmala to Assistant Chief for the Office of Special Operations.
