More than 100 Bicycle officers from throughout the Department

Thanks to the generous support of the Weingart Foundation in collaboration with the Los Angeles Police Foundation, 150 new patrol bicycles were purchased for the Department. These new Cannondale bikes have allowed the Los Angeles Police Department to expand its bike patrol operations throughout the City.

The morning will begin with the annual Bicycle Officer Inspection where police officers from every Command in the City will gather for a formal equipment and uniform inspection.  Following the inspection, Chief Bratton will be joined by Karen Wagener, President of the Los Angeles Police Foundation to discuss the positive impact that bicycle patrols have on reducing crime and enhancing relationships in the community.
