WHY: 
205 recruits will graduate from the LAPD Explorer Program, a long-standing youth program.  The academy is twelve weeks long and requires a mandatory attendance on Saturdays.  Students are taught basic law enforcement skills, physical fitness, problem solving skills and are expose to curriculum focused on directing young men and women toward a career in law enforcement.
