LAPD Knock-Knock Task Force Items are now available for on-line viewing and identification NR12517LG

Los Angeles: Earlier this year, the Los Angeles Police Department began a task force to investigate “fence” burglaries.  A fence is an individual who knowingly buys stolen property for later resale, sometimes in a legitimate market.

The task force engaged in extensive surveillance and investigative efforts which culminated with the arrest of numerous suspected burglars and the service of multiple search and arrest warrants at several locations of suspected “fencing” operations, resulting in the potential recovery of burglary victims’ property.  The search warrants resulted in the booking of over 11,000 items of evidence.

In an effort to return property to rightful owners and victims of burglaries, the property is now available to be viewed online.  Victims of burglaries in Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties are encouraged to view the online photographs using the following link:

If individuals believe their property is depicted in any of the photographs, they may send an e-mail to ovbvctf@lapd.lacity.org or leave a message at 818-644-8091.  In your e-mail or message left, please include a brief description of the item, the item number written on the yellow tab in the photography, the name listed as the victim on your burglary report, the report number, the address where the burglary occurred, the date of the crime and a callback number.
